In Provo today, offering a keynote address on Liberal Education for a conference sponsored by ACTA and FAR (the "American Council for Trustees and Alumni," and the "Fund for Academic Renewal.") Both organizations do incredibly important work preserving quality higher education in America.
Baylor in Washington sponsored an engaging event last night at the Museum of the Bible, a panel discussion on "Biblical Witness in American History" with Robby George, Eugene Rivers, Sarah Borden, Daniel Dreisbach, and Meir Soloveichik. The rich diversity of perspectives made for a great conversation. We'll post the video as soon as it's ready.
Just led a conference in Indianapolis on Patrick Deneen's much-mooted book, Why Liberalism Failed (Yale: 2018). My review of the book is here. The conference was sponsored by Liberty Fund, and I want to thank Steve Ealy for organizing it and inviting me to serve.
I'm really looking forward to this important event. We've been working on it all summer. Please come if you can!
